The innovative solution to avoid infections related to implant placement
What is SAFE?
Plasma-functionalized SurfaceAce for Biomedical Environments.
Bacterial infections occur in 1 to 5% of cases involving dental implants or orthopedic prostheses. This increasing figure correlates with the aging population, which is increasingly affected by these implants and prostheses.
Preventing these infections, which can cause pain and inflammation, is the whole point of the SAFE project.
The goal is to act preventively by covering these implants with a very thin, biocompatible and antibacterial coating.
Interreg VI Programme
The European territorial cooperation program Interreg France-Wallonia-Flanders involves 4 French and Belgian regions , collaborating to mitigate the impact of the border.
Its objective is to strengthen economic and social ties between the following border territories: The Hauts-de-France and Grand Est regions in France, Wallonia and Flanders in Belgium.
By pooling their skills and leveraging the specific strengths of each region, this program contributes to the development and well-being of local populations.
